Major Chamber Donations - "Our Sincere Gratitude"

There are many members give true philanthropy when giving to the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce.  Many quietly give, asking nothing in return.  We want you to know them so you can thank these "business community leaders."

Sampling of Major Chamber Donations

  • Enjoy! Restaurant
$7,000 via dinner for 40 people.  Both $3,500 dinner packages were sold at our Grand Cabaret.  Enjoy also donated a luncheon for all Chamber Presidents in the Twin Cities region. Dan and Kay Shimek also invited the Chamber into a process with the Mayor and the Superintendent of District #196, to find a way to match their personal $100,000 donation to Tsunami Relief.  Nearly one-half million dollars was generated as a result of their generosity and leadership.  A great majority of that money came from the students of the District.  They also donated a lesser yet substantial amount to Hurricane Katrina Relief, and gave of their time and money to Special Olympics.

Total project is estimated at $25,000. In addition, in 2009 they dedicated staff experts in Quickbooks to come spend hours each week at the Chamber to convert our books into internally controlled Quickbooks rather than through sending our invoices to accountants. It took months to convert but in the end, the Board has incredible reports and oversight.
